Real-Time Project Monitoring & Verification (MRV) Framework
Transparency and data-driven decision-making are core principles of the NEWMAP-EIB project. This section outlines our approach to Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (MRV), which utilizes modern technologies to track project progress, environmental changes, and adherence to international standards.
Our MRV Approach
While this static website cannot display live data feeds, our MRV framework incorporates several key technologies:
- Drone & Remote Sensing: Periodic drone surveys and satellite imagery analysis are used to create time-lapse visualizations of vegetation regrowth, land cover changes, and gully stabilization progress. These analyses demonstrate landscape transformation over time.
- IoT Sensors (Planned/Deployed): Where applicable, sensors are deployed to monitor key environmental parameters such as rainfall, soil moisture, or water levels, providing granular data for specific sites.
- Field Data Collection: Regular site visits and community consultations provide qualitative and quantitative data on project implementation and socio-economic impacts.
- Compliance & Reporting Framework: Data collected through these methods is used to track key indicators relevant to UNFCCC reporting requirements, including estimated carbon sequestration co-benefits and adaptation outcomes.
Accessing MRV Data:
Detailed MRV reports, analyses, and validated datasets are compiled periodically and made available in the Data Room. This ensures access to comprehensive and verified information.

Our commitment to digital MRV enhances accountability, improves project management, and supports potential integration with carbon markets under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement by providing robust data for verification.
